Data Enrichment Plieger
Plieger is one of the largest sanitary product groups based in the Netherlands with specialization in sanitary, heating, installation, air & ventilation and electricity products. With its own forwarding, central warehouse and over 60+ branches, Plieger supplies a range of more than 150,000 articles to installers, plumbing companies, retailers and hardware stores in the Netherlands.
Requirements
Plieger required its products data to be enriched with the missing product features information based on the reference websites such as 2ba, ETIM and related product manufacturers websites and ultimately upgrading the existing product information to ETIM dynamic version in its Product Information Management (PIM) system. Plieger wants to publish its enriched product data in 2ba portal as well as display the enriched product data via its new webshop. Plieger wanted a reliable partner who could help with the manual product data enrichment project in a cost effective and efficient way.
Challenges
Plieger had over 60,000 products belonging to about 1000+ product classes to be enriched with the missing product features and upgraded to the latest ETIM dynamic version. Also, the specific challenge was that the product data needed to be updated in the native Dutch language of Plieger. Owing to such a huge product database with the language barrier, we needed to make sure that we have a pool of trained professional staff for successful execution of the project. The staffs needed to be trained about the client’s specific requirements to ensure accuracy of the product data enrichment and deputed within a short turnaround time.
Solutions
- We initialized and successfully implemented virtual workspace through Microsoft Teams amid the Covid pandemic for communication within team members and project management.
- In order to complete the project on time with higher data quality and accuracy, we quickly deputed 20+ full time staff with extensive training. We created and localized training materials and videos specifically for the assignment which resulted in better understanding of the clients requirements for our local staffs.
- We automated some of the manual process flows via excel macros and also created a digital dashboard with workflow & time management for effectively tracking the project activities.
- We created a separate google drive specifically for the assignment with knowledge repository, issue tracking register and folder management for tracking the project progress and tracking the product files.
Results
We have successfully updated 1,000+ product classes with over 60,000 products within the specified time period by client. Our meticulous efforts with an agile team of competent professional staffs, prompt swift response to Plieger’s enquiry and the ability to meet Plieger’s expectation encouraged Plieger to further outsource their other assignments such as CRM data enrichment, Invoice entry and matching, contract management with high rate of success and client satisfaction.
